History
The Northern Combination was introduced into the women's pyramid of football in 1998. The league initially consisted of the top teams from the three feeder regional leagues; Yorkshire and Humberside, North West and Northern leagues. Since the reorganisation of the pyramid the champions of the North East Region and the North West Region are eligible for promotion. The Northern Combination Champions are promoted to the National Leagues Northern Division.
